💥Who was Charles Dickens?


Charles Dickens was a famous English writer. He was born in 1812 and died in 1870. When he was a child, his family was very poor. His father went to prison because he had no money, and young Charles had to work in a factory. This difficult time influenced his books because he wanted to show the world how hard life was for poor people.


His Famous Works and Characters

Dickens wrote many stories about life in Victorian England. His books often happen in London, a city that was dark, crowded, and dirty in the 1800s.


Oliver Twist: This story is about an orphan boy in a scary workhouse. Oliver is famous for asking for more food. The main characters are Oliver, the thief Fagin, and the dangerous Bill Sikes.
